Become a Trustee – you can make a real difference.
Do you value older people and the work that is done in Wales for older people? Then become a trustee.
We are always on the look out for skills that will enhance our work and give it good direction. What kind of skills are we looking for? One or more of the skills you could bring to our organisation are: administration, finance, volunteering, human resources, arranging events, fundraising, business management & development, good sound common sense, advocacy, marketing, PR, strategy development and many other skills are required to help run a small organisation like ours.
Can you do any of the above, do you have integrity, commitment and a desire to make a positive difference to the lives of others - you could have a role with our organisation.
We appoint new trustees at our Annual General Meeting. However you can become involved at any time as we invite potential new trustees to find out about the organisation, meet with the chief officer and other trustees and maybe sit in on a meeting as an observer.
What do you get out of it? A chance to make a difference to the lives of older people, a fantastic feeling of goodwill, a job well done, an opportunity to meet and work with like-minded, socially responsible colleagues and mentors, a challenge, satisfaction that you’ve helped to provide services and information to potentially 48,000 older people in Carmarthenshire. These are just a few of the benefits of working with our organisation.
As a trustee you would work with other trustees in helping to govern the affairs to the charity, determine strategy and policy and ensuring that the work of Age Concern remains relevant to older people. Trustees meet up to 6 times a year and training and support is provided. Contact us to find out more about becoming a trustee and about the organisation – telephone number 01554 784080.
Alternatively if you wish to help out with any of our other projects, please see our services and section on volunteering with our organisation.
