Gardening Scheme

Gardening Service

The scheme has been run since 2002 in conjunction with the Dyfed-Powys Probation Service and up until 2007 has been run throughout Carmarthenshire.

Unfortunately because of a shortfall in funding, the scheme has now been limited to the Llanelli and Llanelli rural areas and to those over 70. The scheme has proved very popular, with over 300 gardens a year being tidied.

It is a one off visit by a supervised team from the probation service. The team will supply their own gardening equipment and will take an unruly or overgrown garden back down to a manageable state.

If you need, and are eligible for this service, you will automatically be referred to the Bobby Van Service, unless you specify otherwise. See related link to the Bobby Van Scheme.

Referrals can also forwarded to the Social Services Department, Fire Brigade and the Community Police if further assistance is required by you.

However, if you are looking for a more regular gardening service, see related link to Trading Standards’ Registered Gardeners list.
